Welcome to FredricRaab.com

Since recently retiring from UCSD, I promote STEM/STEAM activities through teaching and course development, focusing my efforts on computer engineering projects using the Arduino, Raspberry Pi and software defined radio (SDR).

My special interest is in space and aerospace applications which have never been so accessible to students of all ages. I build flight recorders for high powered amateur rockets and high-altitude balloons, functional (but not space-worthy) CubeSats, and ground stations to receive telemetry from satellites, weather balloons and aircraft.

This website documents these projects and related teaching activities. I hope you find it helpful. Use the above menu tabs to explore.

It’s a work in progress, so check back for updates. I’m adding pages, lesson plans, and blog posts regularly.
